i'm home now..
i think i'm going to short united
and long jetblue.
old airlines are doomed..
my biggest regret of this trip? flying united into vanvoucer. i shoud have flown jetblue into seattle and drove 3 hours each way to vancouver..
i don't have time right now to write the reasons united sucked so much on this vacation i had..

hockey
i'm stuck in vancouver for a couple of days.
it seems i've lost my son's birth certificate and they're not letting him back into the U.S. until I get another copy.
it's been a nightmare.
i always knew hockey was big in canada.. but i didn't realize it was bigger than football and baseball were in the U.S. everywhere I look, hockey is on.
amazing..

whistler rained in
there is a weather phenomenon where the jetstream dips south in and around hawaii and then heads up into the pacific northwest and southwest canada. it's called the pineapple express, and it brings warm weather and rain to the area.
it sucks.
My dream ski week at whistler is ruined. it has rained every single day i'm here, and it'll be raining tomorrow (when I leave), too.
so.. fuck the pineapple express.
merry christmas.

a rant about the strike
sorry, but even without the flight out, I have to say that those cocksuckers are a bunch of spoiled children.
I was reading (for the first time) the issues that they're going on strike over.. and I must say I have no sympathy for these miserable bastards at all. Moving the retirement age from 55 to 62 for employees who haven't even started yet (when the rest of the country retires at 65??!) Contributing 1-2% of their salary to their heathcare benefit (when the rest of the country's premiums are up at least 10%?!)
This is what these shitfuckers are crippling the city over less than a week before christmas?!?
I hope to god that Pataki follows through on his threats to punish these workers individually. I hope their children get nothing for christmas this year because dad can't afford it. I hope to see some homeless bus drivers in February after they can't make rent payments. And to ensure all this happens, I hope the politicians give special compensation to lawyers who sue these cocksuckers individually (lawyers are key - they would extract every penny they could out of them)..

Fun day today
Fun day to be a fly on the wall at my company today.
Not much I could do to help rebuild the total meltdown that happened.. but it was interesting to sit back & watch.

I work in Times Square
And every day on the way home from work (going to work isn't that bad), I have to dodge massive hoards of tourists..
Anyway, it occurred to me the other day that if I was a tourist in New York, eager to visit Times Square, I would be pissed once I finally visited it. Oooh, a hundred advertisement billboards and a bunch of pissed off commuters desperately trying to avoid you.

Concert
Had my Christmas concert over the weekend. Bonus - my mother was in town to see it (she lives in California.) The concert was a roaring success - everyone loved it. Its success can be attributed in no small part to some of the singers who participate in the church choir. I consider myself extremely lucky to have the opportunity to sing with such talented people as who go to my church. It's amazing.
Sorry, no sounds or images to share.
One more major distraction to get out of the way: Ski trip to Whistler/Blackcomb next week; before I can focus entirely on work, which has been quite hectic lately.
